Chazz Massey, Nevyn Pflugradt & Juan Malon

Students from our transition program placed 1st (Nevyn), 2nd (Chazz) and 3rd (Juan) in the statewide employment application competition hosted by Skills USA.  It was a clean sweep in the medal round for these 3 young men.  The SKILLS USA state competition was online this year due to COVID-19.  It is a yearly state event that students across Minnesota compete against each other in employment categories.  As well as attending the transition program these 3 young men work part time jobs in the community.  Juan has worked at Kowalski's Market for the past 4 years.  Nevyn works at Papa John's Pizza.  And Chazz is employed at Holiday Station Stores off Hwy 36.

The staff is very proud of these students hard work in the classroom and community!  Congratulations!!

Papa John's Training Worksite

June & John Christopherson own and operate Papa John's Pizza located at 1501 Stillwater Blvd. North in Stillwater. For the past 2 years Papa John's has provided a job training site for our students to participate and learn what is required of maintaining employment at a local business.   Students complete job tasks required of employees and learn to overcome any obstacles they may encounter during their training.  A job coach is provided by the transition program to assist students in problem solving and monitoring student progress.

Currently, John Lindeberg and Daniel Donahue are completing the 6 week training program. Nevyn Pflugradt and Jaden Phelps also completed the training program this school year.  Thank you Papa John's for the commitment to training young adults in the world of employment in our community!
