Community Outings

Here at the Oak Park Transition Program we are treated like adults, because we are. That’s why we are able to go onto community outings to explore our skills of being in the public. We go to such places as, Target, Cub Foods, Wal-Mart and The Stillwater Public Library. At these places, it is our responsibility to act in a respectful manner as adults. Most of the time of these trips we gather items and check prices to help us in our FACS class, to make and test our cooking skills. At the Library, we are able to get well,  Books Of Course! DVD’s of movies and audio books. Also at Wal-Mart and Target, we are able to buy personal items with our own money. Learning how to manage it and get products at cheaper prices such things like, deodorant/personal care items, snacks and other wants and needs.
